El Vendrell
El Vendrell is a small ancient town just a few kilometres from the coast. As we stayed there for a few days we had a chance to look around.

There is an old tradition in Catalonia to built human towers called Castells. Here such a tower is painted on the wall of a building. |

In medieval times El Vendrell was a walled town with five portals. Only one of them has survived. We admired a dark blue ceiling of the tower.
Tarragona
We spent one day in Tarragona. First we had a look at the Roman aqueduct Devil’s Bridge on the outskirts of Tarragona.
It is 27 m high and 217 m long. It was built more than 2000 years ago and supplied city of Tarragona with fresh water from the river Puigdelfi.

One can go all the way around it and even walk along the water conduit.
There are lots of well-preserved Roman monuments in Tarragona. These are Roman city walls.
Cannons were placed on the walls in XVII-XVIII centures.

Mediterranean Sea.
On our way from Tarragona we visited Platja Roca Plana. To reach it, we walked for half an hour along the sea cliffs through the pine forest. The sea was very clear.
We spent a lot of time on Platja de les Madrigueres.
