Malinovaya gora. 26-30 December 2021

Saint Petersburg greeted us with proper winter which we had not seen here in December for some 20 years or so, with cold weather and plenty of snow. We made the most of the weather, and went skiing three times.

Our first trip on Malinovaya gora. We had a mixture of touring and cross-country skis.

There was more snow here than in the north of Sweden.

Next day we went to Oselki. It was sunny most of the day.

When we got to the lake again, it was lit by the setting sun.

There was only a thin snow cover on the lake, so we were moving at speed.

We went to the same area again a couple of days later.

The snow became harder, and there was some surface water on the lake so our skies got iced.

The magnificent snow caps on the trees were still there in the middle of the forest, but at the like side the wind blew the snow caps away.
