Norway, January 2025

After travelling to Sweden, we spent three days with our old friends who have lived in Norway for a long time. Right from the airport we were taken to a dacha near Randsfjorden.

The following day was great, the sun was shining like in March. And it didn't set at 2 pm, as it did in northern Sweden, but kept shining and shining. View of the fjord.

You can go sledging down the forest road as if it were a slide.

The sun warmed the rocks and huge icicles formed on them.

We first enjoyed the fjord from above and then went down. People say there are winters when it is completely covered with ice.

Lingonberries and icicles.

Bullfinch.

There is nowhere to go cross-country skiing near the dacha, as the village is located on a steep slope. Instead, we went to a small plateau where there are many ski tracks.

The blue line shows our track. Shift-click on the track link will open it in nakarte.me.

The day was sunny and frosty. Icicles from the previous thaw were hanging on the trees.

The ski track runs through forests, clearings, fields and bogs.

The farm at the top of the hill. We then made another circuit, but we overestimated our speed, so on the way back we had to ski in the moonlight.

Snow patterns on a field.

Sunset. The sun was setting into the thick fog rising from the fjord.

The next day we woke up in a cloud. All the trees were covered with frost.

This was our last day in Norway. The fjord is hiding in the think fog.

We went to a forest lake.

The fog had lifted and the fjord appeared.

Everything was black-and-white. Even the hay wrapping was white.

We're going back home. Victor skied down almost all the way.

Frost-covered fir trees and hedges.
