Kuznechnoe 6-7 August 2021

We were keen to take our big family for a hike for a few days. The original plan was to go for three days but due to bad weather the trip was shortened to two days. We took a train to Kuznechnoe and got to the so-called Big Rocks. At the end of the second day we came back after getting completely soaked.

Day one

Verkhneye Podosinovskoye lake.

Amazing forests with nobody around.

There weren't many mushrooms or berries this year, the July was too hot and dry. We only found one boggy place with blueberries and cowberries.

We found a great spot for the camp by the Pestovo lake.

After dinner we went for a walk to the Yastrebinoye lake and the Big Rocks. We are on top of the Parnas rock.

The vertical granite rock drops 50 m down.

We timed our walk to get here by the sunset.

We went back via Klyukvennoye lake and crossed the suspension bridge from one side of the lake to the other.

One has to hold tight.

Some planks rotted away but the rickety bridge was still passable.

We all enjoyed the evening.

The lake was very quiet.

Day two

We went back the next day, as heavy rain was forecast.

We walked by several lakes. We unexpectedly had to really fight through a thicket in one place - but made it through in the end.

The rain started as forecast. Our lunch break at Berezovskoye lake. The big tent saved us from getting too wet.

Victor was the only one to go swimming, everybody else was watching from under the tent.

We got to the train station in the evening. It was still raining but there was a waiting room at the station which we made good use of.
