Skellefteå 21-24 August 2022
After the end of the Sarek trip we spent some time with Yasha and Magda in Skellefteå. They took us chantrelle-picking, we had a proper sauna with a dip in a lake, visited a sea resort, celebrated Yasha's birthday with traditional crayfish party, and then another family birthday party. We went for a walk in the park where we skied in December, promenaded along the main river and visited a local museum.

Skellefteå turned out to be further north than St. Petersburgh. The weather during our visit was fantastic, warm and sunny with only one rainy day.
The waterfront has numerous attractions for young and old: from swings to slides to trampolines to climbing walls.
In the evening we went for a BBQ and a sauna in a small village.

A beach in Byske resembles Finland Bay in Russia. The bathing season was officially over, so we were the only visitors on the beach.
Yasha invited colleagues (and family) to a crayfish party, Kräftskivor.
Crayfish parties are a big tradition in Sweden. It proved challenging to find crayfish in the supermarket due to high local demand.
