Fairfield 10-11 February 2023

There was no snow on the horizon this winter, so we went to the Lakes for a walk. The weather wasn't too bad: no sun but no rain, and the wind wasn't too strong. We camped just above Kirkstone Pass.

There was no snow at all, dry fern and grass coloured the fells in brown.

A rock crosses the stream like a dam.

Buckstone Jump. This is probably a popular spot for swimming in the Summer. Such smooth rocks are not that common in the Lakes.

Suddenly the sun came through the clouds and the mountains came alive.
