The first and last days in Dresden
We went to Dresden for a few days as Victor had a conference during the week. Sonya and Maria came a few days later and spent a day exploring Dresden. Lova joined us the day after. We spent the whole weekend walking in the Saxon Switzerland national park, on Sunday evening we went back to Dresden, and on Monday we flew home. We had a very rich and varied trip: there was the city, the mountains, and we also met with Lova. We stayed in Neustadt, near the train station.
Not far from our house there was an interesting neighbourhood called Kunsthofpassage. There were five interconnected courtyards between two neighbouring streets that form one artistic complex. Each courtyard has its own theme: a courtyard of animals, a courtyard of fairytale creatures, a courtyard of light, a courtyard of elements and a courtyard of metamorphosis. This is the animal courtyard with monkeys and giraffes.

This is Stallhof (Stall Courtyard) which was a very quiet courtyard. On the other (outside) wall of this building is the famous panel The Procession of Princes.
The other side of the same courtyard there are small turrets and crooked windows.

The Golden Horseman is a monument to the Polish King Augustus the Strong. Not quite comparable to the Leningrad Bronze Horseman though.
