North York Moors 2 December 2023

The snow covered Noth York Moors just before the weekend. On Saturday the temperature was just below freezing and it was sunny all day.

We parked near the main road and put on our skis.

About 15 cm of fresh snow fell overnight, so breaking trail was not too hard.

We first skied through spruce plantations, and then we got into a birch forest.

We were the only skiers today.

It was getting late and we went back to the car. In the distance we could see the forest where we had been skiing all day.

Boundary posts are common on the moors. These two are leaning towards each other.

We had a wonderful skiing trip. Unfortunately, the snow melted the next day. As it turned out, this was our only ski trip in England that winter.
