Flora
Northern nature is unassuming but extraordinary. We recognised many plants from the last year trip to Sarek.
Cordilleran bunchberry (Cornus unalaschkensis). Most plants already had ripe berries, but near the glacier we also came across flowering plants.
Bunchberries. We thought they were poisonous, but it turns out you can eat them. We didn't try them, though.
Dew-covered bunchberries.
Dwarf willow (Salix herbacea). It doesn't look like a tree at all.
Highland rush (Oreojuncus trifidus).
Lapland pincushion plant (Diapensia lapponica L.).

Common oak fern (Gymnocarpium dryopteris).

Alpine blue-sow-thistle (Cicerbita alpina). |
Goldenrod (Solidago virgaurea) and Golden root (Rodiola rosea). |
Mosses and lichen.
Moor-king lousewort (Pedicularis sceptrum-carolinum L.) is the official floral emblem of the Swedish province of Västerbotten.
Running club-moss (Lycopodium clavatum L.).
Yellow Mountain Saxifrage (Saxifraga aizoides L.).
White cottongrass (Eriophorum scheuchzeri Hoppe).
The grass is covered in dewdrops.
