Day 1. Approach.
We landed in Turin in the morning, rented a car and by the lunchtime reached La Clusaz, the starting point of our trip. The weather was following the forecast and it soon started raining.

We are repacking our backpacks. We found a shelter by a shed so the rain did not spoil our lunch.
A good path went up by the rocks.
Passo di Planaval appeared in the clouds. The path was climbing up from one valley to another.
Heavy rain resulted in a "jacuzzi" at this water intake point.
In a couple of hours we reached Baraques du Fond. These buildings were probably built during World War I but we found no information about them on the internet. We were all wet, so we chose the best-preserved building with a dry roof and camped inside.
Day 2. A rest day.
The forecast was for non-stop rain for the whole day, so we decided to have a rest day and only went for a walk before lunch. Indeed, the rain did not stop until half-five or so.

Our kitchen.
A large bedroom. The old wooden planks on the floor were our bed. In order not to bump our heads against low ceilings, we were wearing helmets. At some point during the night, the roof above Yasha leaked, and he had to move over to a dry place. We spent two nights in this shelter. The disadvantages of darkness and low ceilings were outweighed by the comfort of the dry roof.

We went for a walk around the area.
The visibility was not great.
We climbed a small ridge. The snow field in the next valley resembles an eagle with large wings.
Where are we?
The moss by this little tarn was very bright in contrast to the dull colours all around us.
The red plants are bilberry.
There was a lot of bilberry at the bottom of the ridge. Sonya's picking up bilberries while keeping her feet dry.
The water in the stream is muddy due to rain.

The rain petered out in the afternoon. We set up a tent over the entrance and had a dinner in daylight but under a roof.
