Dolomites 21-30 July 2012
The last few days in Italy.
We spent a few days in Castelfranco. We drove on the first day to the sea near Venice and spent the day bathing. We visited Padua (Padova), about 30 km from Venice, on the way back. We did not have much time. We only managed to get to the centre of the old town and had to go back. It was going to rain.

We spent the following day walking around Venice, and in the evening went to Lido and swam in the sea.

Murano is a set of seven islands in the Venice lagoon. This village is famous for its glassblowing business. The buildings are smaller and less grand than in Venice, but it is still a very nice village.
There some grand palaces, probably belonging to the rich citizens of Venice.
