Day seven: Lado Coldai.

This was the last day in the mountains. We did not have much time for hiking, as we were supposed to drive to Castelfranco (Veneto) in the evening. We were planning to spend a couple of days in the south, visit Venice, swim in the sea.
We left the car at a car park and started ascending the slopes of Monte Civetta. This place turned out to be very crowded. We have not seen so many people ni the Dolomites before. Here is a view of Mt Pelmo again. Somewhere at the bottom of the leftmost scree there is a rock with the dinosaur tracks.
We made it to the Coldai lake. The bravest ones went for a dip in the lake. We then had a lunch, and started on the way back. There was some young fish in the lake. Lova caught some for Sonya.
Sonya is looking for a goldfish.
The water is cold, but she does not mind.
It was rather hot. We climbed on a small hill above the lake. We could see all Dolomites from here. We can see Mt Pelmo in the distance again.

This plans is called Physoplexis comosa. It is very rare (or so we were told). We only noticed it when somebody started taking pictures. |
These flowers are probably Gentiana verna. Amazingly bright, pure blue colour. Little stars in the moss. |
