Day 6
We went further down into the valley. The only way to cross the Guhkesvákkjåhkå river was by the same bridge as in the second day of the trip. We initially planned to cross it in its upper reaches, not sure this would have been possible after the rain. We decided to spend the saved time by climbing Skanátjåhkkå. This is really nice summit (no technical difficulties) with amazing views.

Amazing weather in the morning, sunny but fresh. This is the same valley which was flooded yesterday, most of the water is gone.
Time for drying wet clothes.
We traversed the ridge gradually desdcending into the valley towards the bridge. Lots of little streams ran down from the slopes of the ridge.

This stream can be crossed without getting our feet wet.
The bridge is a meeting place for hikers. When we got to the bridge, there were two groups there already.

We stopped for lunch on a rocky outcrop by a waterfall.
This was a really beautiful place.
Dozing in the sun while drying remaining wet clothes. A sudden wind gust threw a sleeping bag into the water, and it floated towards the waterfall. Fortunately, Lova managed to catch it in the last moment. The sleeping bag was already packed in a waterproof sack and didn't get wet.

We continued our ascent after lunch.

Far behind us is the ridge which we climbed two days ago.
To compensate for getting down from the glaciers earlier than planned, we decided to cross this little glacier, the last in this trip.
We could have just climbed up by its side, but it was so nice to get on the ice.

Where next?
A view towards the Guhkesvákkjåhkå river. Áhkká is on the left. Tomorrow we will cross a small shallow side ridge on the right in the picture and start the last leg of the trip. It was a very atmospheric day, with nobody around us except for the reindeer.
We went down by a large scree and some snow fields. Going down snow fields was much faster!
As soon as the sun sets down, it gets cold, particularly if there is some wind. This evening we put on all our clothes, it was quite chilly. Our ponchos protect not just from the rain, but also from the wind.
