Day 2
We are still far away from the mountains. It's a long approach.

A morning visitor. This reindeer got very close to our camp.
We are going further and further away from the inhabited land. The path goes through the tundra, then disappears into a bog, reappears again on drier ground. There are very few paths here anyway.
Rhodiola rosea.

Crowberry (Empetrum nigrum).
First glaciers!
We went along a river connecting a network of lakes.
This is the same pyramid-like mountain, we saw it all day.
The path disappears in a thicket of plainleaf willows. Fighting through it takes time.
Steep mountains like in the Alps.
Arctous alpina (L.). Its leaves will later turn red but the berries will turn black..
Cotton grass.
Betula nana.
Tundra in the autumn.
The only bridge across the Guhkesvákkjåhkå river.
The river is very fast. One couldn't cross it without the bridge.
There is reindeer at the end of the snow field.
We crossed a small ridge and entered another valley.
We planned to camp by the lake but stopped a little short.
It was so good to have a small fire! There were no trees here but we collected some dry roots and twigs.
