Day Five. Passo Porta di Buciaga.
After a very long day yesterday, this was an easy day. We got up quite late, we walked slowly, had many breaks and finished quite early. The path to the pass is well marked. In the top section, the path crosses boulder fields - this is a remnant of glacier Buciaga. We saw ice in the voids under large boulders. The path is crossed by many streams all the way to the pass, so there is no problem with drinking water. The descent from the pass is also well marked and does not present any difficulties.

We pitched the tents yesterday in the dark, directly on the path, between the river Poia and a small stream. The seracs of Adame glacier are on top of the rocks. We came down along the rocks on the left.
We went down the valley, crossed the bridge to the other side of the Poia river and went across the mountain ridge on the left. The Poia valley is terraced: flat sections alternate with steep descents.
The path goes around huge boulders, much bigger than a human. It is not clear how they got here. This rock broke in half, Yasha climbed between the two pieces.
We crossed the river and followed a path to Passo Porta di Buciaga. The building in the valley is Rifugio Baita Adame, we did not visit it.

Passo Porta di Buciaga is straight ahead.
Monte Adamello, one of the tallest mountains in the area. We saw it from the glacier, but somehow did not take pictures. Here it is hidden behind a mountain ridge.
This is our pass: a crack in the ridge. One can spot wood planks and stone walls: these were military fortifications.

It is not that often that all five of us get together - so family pictures like this one are cherished!
We camped in the Chiese valley. We came down from the ridge on the left, and tomorrow we are crossing the ridge on the right. At the top of the valley is Passo di Val Fumo, and the tall peak on the right is Сorno di Cavento.
We found a nice camping spot quite early, so everybody had some spare time: Lova went for a run, Yasha and Ksenia went for a dip in the cold river, and the girls played a card game.
Looking down into the valley: our tents are on the right, the girls are playing with cards on a little island. Tomorrow we will be crossing the ridge on the left via Passo Vacche (the pass of the cows).
