Cross-country skiing

We spent two days cross-country skiing in the Smith College park. There was plenty of snow, it was pretty cold, ideal skiing conditions - and nobody around as most people were at home celebrating Christmas.

The wind blew most of the snow away from the lake. It felt so good to break trail through untouched snow.

Fresh snow, no wind - what else could one wish for?

Smith College is quite a big park with plenty of ski tracks.

A beech twig. There were plenty of beech trees here, many young trees had unfallen brown leaves.

Our friends stayed for another day but we went to New York. A couple of days later the weather turned, it became very warm and all the snow melted away.
